According to an interview in TV Guide with “Y&R” head writer, Josh Griffith, Christel Khalil’s contract negotiations worked out with the show and she will stay on as Lily.

In an interview with TV Guide, “Y&R” executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps, confirmed that the casting call that went out for ‘Sally’ was indeed a recast for Lily Winters Ashby, but stated that since then, contract negotiations with Christel Khalil have resumed. Stay tuned!

Christel Khalil’s official website is reporting that the Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress will no longer be playing Lily Winters Ashby on “The Young and the Restless.” The site administrator posted, “Christel Khalil is indeed leaving ‘The Young and the Restless’. It is not her decision to leave. An agreement could not be reached during contract negotiations. I have confirmed this information with the source.”
It was suggested that a recent casting call may be a recast for the role of Lily. No final airdate or other details were available. Stay tuned.
