Wrestling coach among 59 killed in Las Vegas attack

The family of Shippensburg Greyhound Wrestling Coach Bill Wolfe has confirmed he is among the 59 people tragically killed in the Las Vegas mass shooting, according to the Shippensburg Police Department.

A statement posted to the police department Facebook page stated:

It is with the most of broken hearts, the families of Bill Wolfe Jr. and his wife Robyn share that Bill has been confirmed to be among the deceased as a result of the mass attack in Las Vegas. Please continue to hold our entire family as well as those affected across the nation in your unending prayers. At this time we ask that you respect the families privacy during this horrific time.Thank you.

Family said that Bill was on an anniversary trip in Las Vegas with his wife Robyn, enjoying the music festival, when it turned deadly.

"The sad part is is that his wife and he were separated when it occurred and she has had no word as to what hospital he’s in or what his condition is and the waiting is what’s the most heartbreaking thing for all of the family, for everyone, but especially for her," his aunt Dora Wolfe said.

A vigil was held for Wolfe, and the other victims, on Monday night in Shippensburg.

The owner of a surveying and engineering firm says Wolfe had previously worked for him as a professional engineer, contributing to several major projects. Carl Bert, president of Carl Bert & Associates, released the following statement:

Other than family, there was no one that I was closer to professionally and personally as he was a friend and good Christian brother in the Lord. Bill was truly a leader with the vision to see and implement all aspects of projects. He was personable, fun, easy to work with, very professional, who le other staff and connected very well with clients and municipalities. He was a class act in every way. Bill was a positive influence with everyone at CBA as well our clients. Our hearts are heavy and there has been a few tears. Our prayers are with his family, especially his wife Robyn and sons.

Wolfe's father, Bill Wolfe Sr., was Shippensburg borough manager for many years.

Wolfe was also a Shippensburg University alumnus and the University released the following statement:

Shippensburg University is deeply saddened by this loss and is ready to assist and support Bill’s family and the community as a whole.
